The Fire Keeper

 The Fire Keeper

Zane Obispo has been living on an island surrounded by shadow magic to protect him from the other gods. He plans to escape from the island to save his dad, slowly dying. One day though another godborn comes to his island. He learns that when he sent out a message to the godborns, he made them visible to the gods! Now the godborns are being captured! Can he trust and old enemy to be an ally? Can he rescue the godborns and his dad in time? This book is the sequel to The Storm Runner. It was written by J.C. Cervantes. Like The Storm Runner, I absolutely loved this book, but somehow this book topped The Storm Runner. A total 5 out of 5 stars! It was every you'd want in a book: funny, serious, interesting, great plot, and full of surprises. My favorite character was Ren. She's smart, and a great character to look forward to reading about. I would recommend this book for anyone who liked the first one, or the Percy Jackson series. Have fun reading!

Stop That Bull, Theseus!

Stop That Bull, Theseus!

Stop That Bull, Theseus! is part of the Myth-o-Mania series. Theseus's story in The Great Fat Book of Greek Myths is all messed up. He never really defeated the minotaur! The minotaur was as friendly as a lamb. In fact, Theseus gave new meaning to the words "I forget". He always needed someone to remind him to bring his shoes and where his girdle was. Hades is here to set the record straight. The author of this book is Kate McMullan. I would give this book a 3 out of 5 stars because it just wasn't very good. It wasn't my favorite book. I don't know. I felt like it was too short, and not interesting enough. My favorite character was Hades. He's funny, which I like. I would recommend this to people who like greek mythology or Percy Jackson. Have fun reading!

The Storm Runner

The Storm Runner

Zane Obispo's life is pretty good. He's homeschooled, and gets to spend days hiking his volcano, which he calls the Beast. It's pretty hard to climb the Beast thought because one of his legs is shorter than the other, causing him to limp. When he meets a pretty girl at school though, his whole world changes. He learns that his volcano is actually a gateway to a magical world, that he's destined to release an evil Mayan god from it! He meets demons, gods, goddesses, and giants. Can he stop the evil god from escaping? This book is written by J.C Cervantes. I would have to rate this as one of my favorite books this year. I got it from my school library, and once I started it, I fell in love with it. It's full of suspense, it's funny, and it was just great. So, as you can tell, I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. My favorite character was Brooks. She's feisty, yet kind, pretty, but powerful. She runs the operation, mainly because she knows more about Mayan gods and goddesses than Zane, but whatever. I would recommend this book for anyone who likes Percy Jackson, or Heroes of Olympus. Have fun reading!

The Double Cross

 The Double Cross.

The Double Cross is about Hale Jordan. He has grown up with his parents as super spies. He knows how to disguise himself in less that 30 seconds, stop a bomb from exploding in less than a minute, but he can't run very fast. His mother calls it "big bones", but his classmates call it "fat". When his parents disappear, he needs to safe them, with a little help from his gymnast sister. He discovers secrets about his spy school. Can he safe his parents? This book is one of the ones that I have had for years, but never read. When I actually read it though, it was amazing. I would rate it 5 out of 5 stars. It is an amazing book, and it is full of suspense and unexpected. The author is Jackson Pearce. My favorite character is Kennedy, the younger sister. She is always excited and ready to have a huge mission. I just love her. I would recommend this book to people who are interested in this type of books, such as the other book, The Inside Job. Have fun reading!

Never After: The Thirteenth Fairy

 Never After

Never After is about Filomena Jefferson-Cho, an adopted only child. She is constantly being watched by her parents for reasons she doesn't know of. One day she is walking home from school when a mysterious stranger starts following her. She runs down an alley but he follows her. He finally introduces himself as Jack the Giant Stalker from her favorite book series. He needs her help, but she knows that it will be dangerous. She faces dragons, wolfs, ogres, and figures out her true heritage. I would rate this book a 4 out of 5 because I couldn't put it down, but I feel like I would have liked a longer book for sure. This book is part of a two book series. This is book one, the second book is The Stolen Slipper. My favorite character was Alistair because of how funny he was. Even in scary times, he could always crack a joke. This book was written by Melissa de la Cruz. I would recommend this book for anyone who likes the fiction genre. Have fun reading!
