A Summer of Sundays

A Summer of Sundays

A Summer of Sundays is about a “middle of the middle” child. She has five siblings and is never remembered. After she is left at a gas station and her family doesn’t return until they realize they were driving the wrong way, her suspicions become true. She moves to Alma for the summer and knows that she has to do something amazing to make sure that she never gets forgotten again. She finds a manuscript and knows that this is her chance. But is this manuscript going to help or hurt her friends lives? This book was written by Lindsey Eland and my favorite character is Sunday’s brother CJ. CJ is one of the most hilarious characters I have ever read about. He talks about poop a lot and is always getting his brothers to talk about it too. I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because of how beautiful and funny it is. I would recommend this book to people who like realistic fiction. Have fun reading!

Ungifted

 Ungifted

Ungifted is a book about Donovan Curtis who is completely and totally mischievous. After a very big mistake of his, he is accidentally drafted into the gifted program. He makes friends at the academy, and even becomes the driver for their robotics team! But all the teachers can tell clearly that he is ungifted. Soon, the school he originally went to realizes where he is and makes him return. I won’t spoil it anymore, but I’ll finish my report. This book is written by Gordan Korman, and my favorite character in this book is Donovan. I am almost (not quite) as mischievous as him, but I am surprised at how easily he can make friends at the academy, which I like about him. I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars like I did on my last report. I would recommend this book to fans of the series “Percy Jackson”. Have fun reading!

The Ickabog

The Ickabog

The Ickabog is a new book published in 2020 by JK Rowling. There are pictures drawn by kids from ages 6-13. This book is about a monster called the “Ickabog”, feared by everyone in the country of Cornucopia. As lies grow about the monster, two best friends, Bert and Daisy, decide to investigate and find out about the Ickabog. My favorite character in this book is probably Daisy. Daisy is super brave and she wants only truths. She will do whatever’s best for other people, and she’s generous. I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I would recommend this book to everyone who is a fan of Harry Potter and of JK Rowling herself.
